What’s going on at LydiaPlace? You’ve come to the right place. Here’s a list of our most interesting current and future activities, including: Hymntap monthly beer and hymns, coworking community, worship, blogs, and so much more. (scroll down for more information).

Hymntap – beer and hymns @ the Urban Growler. Join us every 2nd Sunday (6 – 8 pm) as we sing some of our favorite hymns to the old time sound of the Fleshpots of Egypt, the world’s most critically disclaimed Luthergrass band. And while you’re at it, treat yourself (and a friend) to the Growler’s good food and the freshest, bestest beer in the Twin Cities.
Cowork with LydiaPlace @ the Urban Growler, Thursdays 9 -3 & Fridays 9-noon.
Coworking is a wonderful opportunity for folks who would normally work out of home or coffee shop to work instead alongside other like-minded professionals in a relaxed, quiet, yet supportive community setting. What’s more, coworking with LydiaPlace offers an opportunity to also discern and discover how God is active in our gifts, our talents, and our work in a way that’s non-threatening, nurturing and open to questions and wonder. Coworking costs $35/month and you can sign up online.

Worship and Pastoral Care.  LydiaPlace presently provides weekly worship on Sunday afternoons at 12:30 for the residents of the Seal Tower, Saint Paul’s westernmost public housing facility. We also lead a public weekly Wednesday morning Matins at 11 am in Hampden Park (weather permitting), and will be starting bi-weekly Sunday evening public worship in the Creative Enterprise Zone sometime in late spring. If you are interested in being part of our worship life (as a leader, musician, partner, artist, or participant), you are invited to help us plan and plant worship in the neighborhood. For more information, contact Pastor Scott Simmons @ scott@lydiaplace.com or call 612-859-1134.

Leadership, Vocation, and  Discernment. At LydiaPlace, we’re committed to helping each other recognize our gifts and talents. Yet we’re equally committed to helping each other discern how we are called to use these gifts for the sake of our neighbor and the world. From career and workforce development assistance to intimate discipleship groups, from active collaborative engagement with other groups around the world to a deepening engagement in the Creative Enterprise Zone, LydiaPlace is open to new opportunities and challenges.

Agile Ministry for a Changing World. LydiaPlace is a new ministry of the Saint Paul Area Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America – one which is constantly asking “What is God up to?” and “How are we called to participate in that amazing, life-giving, creative work?”  We invite you to join us in whatever way you feel called. To connect, call Pastor Scott Simmons at 612-859-1134 or email scott@lydiaplace.com.
